Quilling Card

This was a new technique in our Stamping Sucess that I wanted to try out. I thought it tuned out pretty!

Charissa made this card for our club a couple of month's ago using the faux

silk technique. (Stamp on tissue paper and crumple and adhere onto cardstock.) Nice and Springy!

New Technique!!

I haven't tried a new technique in a while and I was excited to do this one!



Supplies: Elmer's glue, Baja Breeze & Wild Wasabi reinkers, Basic Gray ink, Nature Silouettes, Going Gray, Baja Bl, and Basic Gray Cardstock, silver brads, label and oval punch
Directions: Place dots of glue across your white cardstock and then smear with your finger. When this is dry dab your reinker on to a sponge and wipe across your cardstock. The glue won't catch as much ink giving you the neat effect. This will also take a while to dry but after it is dry you can stamp over it with your image.

This card is for my mom's birthday. I wanted to make her a special one so hopefully she won't be checking my blog this month!


Supplies: Elmer's glue, Crumb Cake, Rich Razzelberry, Cajun Craze reinkers, sponges, Early Espresson ink, Inspired by Nature Stamp Set, Scallop punch and accessories (here I used a clip and ribbon on the punched out label)

Rock 'n' Roll Card

Supplies: Crushed Curry, Razzelberry, & Mambo Card stock and inks, Matching Razzelberry paper, Rhinestone brad, Extra die cut from the Matchbox die, white grosgrain ribbon, Circle Circus Stamp set

The fold on this card is 5.5 x 10.

Scored at 3 in and again at 7.25

To get the two toned effect on this card you take your stamp and ink it in your lighter ink first. Before you stamp it on your card stock bring your inked stamp to the darker color and roll and rock the sides of your stamp into the darker ink. Stamp your image. I used Crushed Curry and then Razzelberry on my image.

Reverse Embossing Rose Card

Does anyone notice a pattern in my last few entries? Can you tell I love the new colors, especially Razzelberry and Curry. I saw this technique on another blog and loved it!!

Supplies: Big Shot, Manhattan Embossing Folder, Brayer, Razzelberry and Melon Mambo ink, Razzelberry Card stock, and Whisper White and Old Olive Card stock

Run white card stock through your big shot placed inside the embossing folder. Cut the flower out and then turn upside down so raised edges are facing the table. Ink up your brayer first with one color and glide over flower a few times. Clean brayer and then ink with another color and repeat until flower is colored in with only the white edges remaining. Finally, cut out a couple of leaves in card stock, adhere, stamp greeting.

Dry Embossing and Crayon Resist

Hello again! Sorry for the long break. I am excited for the new catalog and the fun new colors and products to try!! I have an open house at my home on Monday to see the new products and I plan on doing a card with this technique. We will also be doing the same card at the Park River Stamp Camp!

Supplies: Big shot, Manhattan Dry Emboss Folder, Baja Bl, white, Going Grey cardstock, Baja Bl and Going Grey ink, sponges, white crayon and 2Way glue, glitter

Run your baja bl cdstk through the big shot in the dry emboss folder. Next, color some highlights through out your flowers with your white crayon then ink one flower in blue and one flower in grey. Wipe off excess color that resists from the crayon and once dry use your 2 Way glue whever you want to add the glitter. Finally, sprinkle with glitter, stamp your saying and adhere your card! This card is very simple and fun to do with a really great finished product!

Marker Thumping Card!

One more Mother's Day idea!!!

Supplies: Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set, Wonderful Favorites Stamp Set, Pac. bl, Pink Piro., Baja Breeze inks and cardstock, Pretty in Pink-Glorious Green-Certainly Celery Markers, White cardstock, Scallop punch

1. To get the different colors on the tree stamp I used the Thumping technique. I used the long, flat side of the markers and thumped onto the rubber stamp. Begin with the lightest color (in this case pink and work to the darker colors) I finished with the Glorious Gr. marker and colored the trunk and branches with it. REMEMBER to huff (a warm breath) onto the stamp to re moisten before stamping it onto the white cardstock.

2. I stamped the tree again in Pink Piroutte ink to give a background to the pink cardstock.

3. Layer white cardstock with Baja and Pacific cardstocks and adhere onto pink cardstock.

4. Use scallop punch to add detail to the bottom of the card.

Smoosh Technique!

An early Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful mothers out there!!!

Supplies: Reinkers (in this card I used Baja Bl, Pacific Pt, and Kiwi Kiss, with matching cardstock and ribbon, black ink, glossy white cardstock, brayer, Page protector, water bottle

1. First, cut your page protector so that it can open like a book. (these are protectors that we use in our scrapbooks)

2. Dribble some reinkers onto your protector and spray with water.

3. Place your glossy cardstock on top of the ink and water, closing the protector over it.

4. Brayer over and remove cardstock, you will get a unique background design to use on your card. A Note: You can place a new piece of cardstock into the protector and brayer again there will still be enough ink to give you a background although it will be a bit lighter. You can repeat this a few times, each time with a lighter effect before needing to wipe you protector down and beginning again!

5. After allowing time to dry, stamp your image in black over your background. Adhere, tie on a ribbon and stamp your saying in black.

Mosaic Card

Supplies: Leftover scraps of your favorite patterned paper! Stampin' Up! is great for this project with its double sided patterns-here I used Washington Apple, Sticky sheet, Silver embossing powder, So Saffron Cardstk & Grosgrain ribbon, Hodge Podge Hardware, Red Riding Hood ink & Cardstk

I love this card!!! It is one of those easy cards that looks really special and difficult! I also love how this technique uses up my scraps! Stampin Up sells sheets of the sticky paper and it comes in 12 x 12 sheets. I cut mine down to 3x3 for a square and this uses all of the sticky sheet so I don't have any leftovers!!
I cut my red cardstk to 3.25 x 3.25 and placed my sticky square on top of it by peeling the white paper from the sticky sheet.
Next, I peeled off the orange paper and began placing my scraps down any which way on top of the stickiness!
Once you have placed all of your paper down go ahead and sprinkle your embossing powder (I used silver) over the exposed sticky square. Shake off excess and heat to melt the powder! How awesome is that?!!
I finished by stamping a saying on the bottom with red riding hood ink, add the ribbon and hodge podge and you are all set with a beautiful card! This would be a beautiful card for Mother's Day wouldn't it? That reminds me, I will have a Mother's Day card posted soon!!!

**One tip to remember with this particular card is that I cut the cardstock lengthwise at 4.25 so it opens up instead of out. So you have two cards cut at 4.25 x 11 instead of the standard 5.5 X 8.5.

Wax Paper Technique

Supplies: Black cardstock, glossy cardstock, bl eyelets, Crop-O-Dile, linen thread, wh cardstock, Brayer, Wax Paper, Iron & Ironing board, flour cloth, Zoofari Stamp Set, Bl ink, Brocade Blue ink, So Saffron Ink, Bravo Burgundy ink, Aqua Painter

To make the background on this card, it's time to raid the kitchen! Use glossy cardstock for the base. Next, crumple a section of wax paper. Gently smooth the paper out on top of the glossy cardstock. Place a flour cloth on top and iron over your project. After ironing, peel the wax paper off the glossy cardstock and brayer with any color you choose. (I used Brocade Blue) The wax will resist the ink and you will get this neat Safari looking pattern! Remember to wipe off after you brayer with a paper towel to get rid of any excess ink.
